Bulldogs back on track

The Bulldogs embarked on their 10th game of the season on the back of two sobering defeats.

After an unbeaten September, October and November have been stuttering and disjointed.

The visitors, from Bury, an impressive National League 1 club nicknamed the Tigers arrived full of energy.

The Bulldogs started with an experimental starting 15 with Coach Heato rotating the squad.

The Bulldogs started brightly with Will J making a break and feeding Ethan who kicked ahead and chased the ball to touchdown for the first try in the 3rd minute. The conversion was missed (5-0).

The game was evenly balanced for the next 10 minutes with highlight being a superb crunching tackle from Sam.

Ethan almost scored an identical second try but just failed to touchdown.

Two minutes later, the visitors couldn’t clear their line which allowed Leo to collect the kick and outpace the defence for a fine try. The conversion was unsuccessful (10-0).

With ten minutes of the half remaining, Will burst through after a good move from the line out to score under the posts. Noah converted the try (17-0).

Seven minutes later, Isaac chipped through from close range and got his fingertips on the ball before it crossed the dead ball line to extend the Bulldogs lead. The conversion was missed (22-0)

With six changes at half time, the rejuvenated Bulldogs made a good start with pressure from the kick off forcing the turnover to allow Leo in at the corner for his second. The difficult conversion was missed (27-0).

The Bulldogs lost their way with indiscipline creeping in which allowed the visitors plenty of possession.

With 14 minutes of the game left a clearing kick from Leo bounced perfectly for Isaac to score under the posts. Leo converted the try (34-0).

With ten minutes of the game left an unsavoury brawl led the referee bringing the game to an early end.
