Following a three week break, a depleted Bulldogs team ran out at home to Eccles in windy conditions.
With a mixture of broken bones, suspension, illness and unavailability, the Bulldogs reshuffled the deck and welcomed back Ellis as captain following his serious injury in the Southport game.
Following a mistake from the kick off by Eccles, the Bulldogs won the ball from the scrum and moved it wide which allowed Jordy to go over from close range for his first try for the club. The difficult conversion was missed (5-0).
The Bulldogs extended their lead moments later when a break from Oliver D laid the platform for a wide ball out to Jack who beat several defenders for a fine try. The difficult conversion was once again missed (10-0).
With both teams succumbing to handling errors, in part due to the wind, the game lacked fluidity before Isaac sauntered over from a defensive kick after 23 minutes. Ethan converted the try (17-0).
A brilliant break from Tyler almost extended the lead, before Sammy found himself in the right place at the right time for a gift of a try from an Eccles error. The conversion was unsuccessful (22-0).

The Bulldogs put themselves under pressure from the kick off, dropping the ball close to their own line. Eccles enjoyed their best period of territory before the Bulldogs almost went the length of the field with an excellent run from Leo.
With the Bulldogs forcing a drop out, Jordy charged down, which allowed Ellis to squeeze over in the corner. The conversion was unsuccessful (27-0).
Issac added another try under the posts from a scrum 15 minutes into the half. Oliver C punted the ball over for an unconventional conversion (34-0).
A brief moment of complacency from the Bulldogs allowed Eccles over for a fine try. The conversion was successful (34-7).
The Bulldogs hit straight back winning a scrum against the head. The backs moved the ball wide which allowed Noah to dive over in the corner (39-7).
A good run from Henry moved the Bulldogs upfield which set the platform for Noah to add another from close range. Ellis added the extras (46-7) which was the final score of the match.
Following four successive defeats this was a welcome win for the Bulldogs.
