In response to the petition signed by many club members and other friends this week, the Exec Committee met and considered their concerns at a meeting on Monday.
We are in full sympathy with the support for Sarah who has been an outstanding steward for so many years at the club. The Chairman and Bar Chairman asked her to reconsider her decision but reluctantly had to respect Sarah's wishes and accept her resignation.
We wish her success in whatever venture she takes her considerable talents to in the future. She will of course always be welcomed here by her many friends at the club.
We are now making arrangements to ensure that the many dinners, events and ongoing social activities at the club can take place successfully in the weeks to come.
