An Evening with a Former Senior Detective – The Moors Murders Reinvestigation
Members of Leigh RUFC are invited to a fascinating and gripping evening with a retired Detective Chief Superintendent from Greater Manchester Police who helped lead the reinvestigation into the infamous Moors Murders.
Ian Brady and Myra Hindley were convicted of these horrific crimes in May 1966. Years later, detectives reopened the case in an effort to uncover the full truth.
During this unique talk, the detective will explain how the reinvestigation unfolded, including:
• Conducting direct interviews with Brady and Hindley in prison
• Returning with them to Saddleworth Moor
• The search for further evidence and the recovery of additional victims’ remains
• How full confessions to all five abductions and murders were eventually obtained
This powerful and true account provides rare insight into one of Britain’s most notorious criminal investigations and reveals how Brady and Hindley behaved both in prison and during the searches on the moors.
The detective has kindly offered to give his time free of charge.
