Leigh took the lead with a well struck penalty by Rob Drake, 3-0

AK moved sown field 2 minutes later and from a 5 mtr scrum drove the leigh pack over for a try & coverted 3-7
Ill discipline from Leigh resulted in a high tackle and penalty which AK kicked 3-10
AK with another scrum close to the Leigh line when the very strong No 8 picked up and carried 2 leigh defenders over the line for an unconverted try.
Leigh lost influencial scrum half David Wood to a nasty gash above the eye. Leigh shuffled the back line as winger Duffy moved into the scrum half position.
just before half time after a couple of scrum penalties close to the Leigh line the referee awarded a penalty try which was converted

After some wise words at half time Leigh came out enthused however the AK side defended strongly and attacked with speed, Leigh held AK for 25 minutes, 10 of these whilst down to 14 men, before a flowing backs move was well finished in the corner for a try also converted.
With Leigh tiring AK's pressure started to tell and scored 2 further tries 1 converted for a final score of 3-41.
