Leigh travelled to Blackburn yesterday with a much-changed side, missing five players from the previous week, when they beat Wilmslow quite convincingly.
Unfortunately, they went down by eleven tries to one, with the solitary Leigh try coming from an excellent interception by No.8, Marcus Morris-Williams, who raced away to score from 40 metres.
The ‘never say die’ attitude of the squad was apparent throughout this match again but they were always going to be up against it given the changes that had to be made to the team.
Rob Drake was awarded Man of the Match by the Blackburn Officials.
Next week Leigh travel away to West Park in what will again be a ‘must win’ encounter.
