Leigh RUFC 53 v Anselmians RUFC 10

Leigh continued to climb the league table with this comprehensive victory over their visitors from the Wirral peninsular.
The scoring started when stand-off Jimmy Wilkinson worked the loop with McKinstry, and raced to the posts for Ryan to add the extras. Paul Hampson was next on the score sheet , as the forwards completed a catch and drive.

This was quickly followed by his second-row partner David Penn, whose persistent work rate was rewarded with a try off scrum- half David Wood. Anselmians recorded a penalty just before the interval, but Leigh turned round well in control.
The second half continued in the same vein as Leigh recorded the important bonus point try through prop Thomas Baker.
Anselmians hit back with a converted try before Leigh opened the floodgates.
Further tries followed from Jimmy Wilkinson, Calvin Crompton, and long range efforts from Ross Shepherd, Keiron Duffy, and Adam Dyson. Two conversions from Elliott Ryan and one from Dave Harrison completed the scoring.
Leigh now travel to table topping Sale with increased confidence after an unbeaten November.
