Leigh welcomed near neighbours, Warrington, to Round Ash Park yesterday but unfortunately, they had to field a much-changed side due to injuries, illnesses and unavailability.
Warrington came out strong from the start and got their first points on the board with a converted try on fifteen minutes.
They added another two, unconverted, tries by half time to take them off at the break leading by seventeen points to nil.
Leigh rallied early in the second half and got Matty Rudd over for a lovely try, after great work by Wilkinson. Rob Drake added the extras.
Leigh went down to 14 men soon after this and Warrington soon capitalised by adding two quick tries and a conversion before Leigh were back up to full strength.
Two more unconverted tries were scored by Warrington to take them out into a thirty-nine points to seven lead but Leigh got over in the last play of the match, when Jonny Drake shot under the sticks with his brother, Rob, tagging on the conversion.
Final score Leigh 14 Warrington 39.
Next week Leigh travel away to Keswick K.O. 2.15 p.m.
