Furness 0 V Leigh 68
17 minutes of constant forward domination put 21 points on the board against a shell shocked Furness team. Dyson crossed the line on 2 minutes, Dave Woods on 13 minutes and the excellent No 8 Robinson on 17 minutes.
Leigh seemingly took the foot off the pedal and cruised through to half time.
Commencing the second half against a strong wind Leigh were soon adding to their score with Iain Woods crashing over after 45 minutes, at this point of the game, stand off Drake was pulling all the strings to enable the Leigh team to virtually score at will.
Prop forward Gornall was unstoppable from 10 metres out and Robinson, from a set scrum forced his way over for his 2nd try.
This was quickly followed by Olly Shepherd on 60 minutes, then centre Elliot Ryan got in the act with a well taken try to finish the rout.
A second try for Shepherd and a final one by Newton closed the game with a decisive victory.
A truly first class display of goal kicking saw Drake convert nine tries from ten attempts.
