Leigh 57 - Heaton Moor 10
Against a never say die Heaton Moor side, Leigh's superiority in all aspects of the game ended in another runaway victory.
The Leigh pack, with the front row in particular fine form, gave their opposite numbers a torrid eighty minutes. Ben Sutton was first on the score sheet when he barged over for Leigh's first points, quickly followed by skipper Ian Woods wIth a try converted by Rob Drake
.
Following a series of strong scrummaging the home side ran out of front row players and from then, on uncontested scrums were the order of the day which tended to take the sting out of the Leigh forwards.
Needless to say that the flood gates then opened when first Jimmy Wilkinson, on 26 minutes, Ryan McInstry on 30 minutes and Olly Shepherd ended the first half by scoring on the 38th minute
Half time score 31 - 0.
A brief but determined Moor rally put them on the score sheet with a very well worked try in the 2nd minute of the second half.
This stung Leigh into a purple patch, Rob Drake scoring on the 47th minute, McInstry on 50 and Wilkinson on 53.
Leigh then seemed to loose control with wrong options, poor passing, and a general lack of rhythm to their game.
Keiron Duffy ended Leighs scoring with a determined run to the line on 78 minutes.
There was some satisfaction for Moor when they ended the game with a well taken try on the 80th minute.
Paul Trumble and Ryan McInstry catching the eye in this 57 to 10 points romp.
