Last season Leigh and Tarleton were two leagues apart, Leigh's demotion to North Lancs/Cumbria and Tarleton's promotion put them on the same playing field for the first time in history.
Leigh kicked off and were 14 points to the good in the first four minutes, the first one by Jimmy Wilkinson on two minutes, followed by Olly Sheperd on four minutes both converted by Rob Drake.

Leigh hit back within 3 minutes with Ross Shepherd bursting through the defence for a converted try,

With Leigh well on top in all departments and Tarleton giving the Leigh backs space to work in more tries were in the offing.
Olly Shepherd added two more to complete his hat trick and on the 39th minute, the inform Jimmy Wilkinson raced in for his second try making the half time score 43 - 7.
Two minutes into the second half a try by winger Keiron Duffy followed by Robbo's second try five minutes later, both converted again by Rob Drake
