Leigh travelled to Rochdale yesterday, with a much changed side from their previous outing, when they gave the League leaders, Anselmians, a run for their money.
The first half was essentially nip and tuck with both sides working hard to gain the ascendancy. Leigh took the lead through a Matty Rudd penalty but an unconverted Rochdale try, just before half time, took the sides off with Rochdale leading by five points to three.
Rochdale came back out strong and won the second half exchanges, scoring two converted tries, along the way, to take the spoils.
Final score Rochdale 19 Leigh 3.
Next week Leigh have a long trip to Cumbria to face St. Benedict’s.
